Trust & Safety is an area of critical importance for Adobe as we continue to expand into new product areas and markets worldwide. We are seeking aLegal Counsel passionate about creative expression, technology, online safetyand regulatory compliance to join our team and support legal strategies to mitigate risk and enhance user trust across Adobe.
This full-time position will be based in San Francisco, CA or San Jose, CA, and requires 3 days in the office per week.
What You’ll Do:
Advise on legal and regulatory obligations relating to content moderation, child safety, law enforcement and other third-party data disclosures, and transparency reporting.
Develop policies, guidance and playbooks relating to areas of advising.
Monitor relevant global laws and regulations and develop compliance strategies for Adobe’s suite of products and services.
Build awareness of the Trust & Safety program at Adobe, including advising on online safety risks of product and design initiatives.
Work cross-functionally with partners within Engineering, Privacy, Product Legal, Policy, AI Ethics and other teams to complete complex projects, including supporting Policy’s engagement with regulators and legislators on online safety issues.
Support on other product abuse mitigation initiatives, as needed.
What You Need to Succeed:
J.D. from an accredited law school and membership in at least one state bar required.
4+ years of relevant legal experience, including prior in-house and/or law firm experience.
Working knowledge of online safetylaws and similar regulations governing the creation, hosting and sharing of user-generated content, such as the EU Digital Services Act (DSA).
Basic understanding or willingness to learn about global privacy and data protection laws and frameworks.
Excellent legal and business judgment including demonstrated experience assessing information for operational efficiency and risk mitigation opportunities.
Ability and appetite to learn quickly, with a curious mindset and drive to proactively resolve complex issues.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, including a great sense of humor and capacity for working collaboratively with others.
Comfortable working with sensitive or graphic content.
Ability to travel occasionally.
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $108,600 -- $230,700 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
