Responsibilities
  • Perform welding tasks using metal inert gas, tungsten inert gas, stick, and arc welding techniques.
  • Weld, cut, and fabricate metal components according to project requirements and technical drawings.
  • Perform welding work precisely and according to specified quality standards.
  • Follow safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents or injuries.
  • Maintain and use personal protective equipment, including gloves, helmets, and masks.
  • Inspect workpieces for defects before and after welding and correct identified issues.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to determine welding requirements.
  • Ensure welding work meets specified measurements, alignment, and tolerances.
  • Maintain and repair welding machines, tools, and other welding equipment.
  • Inspect and clean welding equipment regularly to ensure proper functionality.
  • Collaborate with team members, engineers, and supervisors to plan and execute welding tasks.
  • Communicate welding-process challenges or issues to supervisors in a timely manner.
  • Ensure welding joints meet industry standards and specifications.
  • Inspect completed welds using micrometers, calipers, and visual inspection to verify accuracy.
Desired Qualifications
  • Welding certification, such as American Welding Society or American Society of Mechanical Engineers certification.
  • Experience with advanced welding technologies or automation.
  • Knowledge of computer-aided design software for design interpretation.
