Requirements
  • At least two years of experience on the teaching staff in an infant/toddler childcare program.
  • Strong skills in early childhood development, including meeting the social and emotional needs of young children.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adaptably across multiple childcare classrooms and provide teacher coverage as circumstances require.
  • Willingness to work with young children of all ages.
  • Ability to comply with the most current New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene rules and regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with group teachers to prepare and implement activities.
  • Communicate with parents and administrators to provide continuity between home and school.
  • Document and share important milestones from each child’s day.
  • Maintain professional relationships with parents and respect confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to coordinate efforts and make joint program decisions.
  • Engage with and learn from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences, and teach a range of learners.
  • Support and monitor health, wellness, and safety procedures and policies.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education.
  • A Child Development Associate credential.
  • Nine college credits in Early Childhood Education and a study plan leading to an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education.
