Requirements
  • A Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance is required.
  • A bachelor's degree in a business or technical discipline, or relevant military, government, or business experience, is required.
  • Three to five years of business development or capture experience in Department of Defense services companies is required.
  • An active Top Secret clearance is preferred.
  • A master's degree in a business field is preferred.
  • Project Management Institute Project Management Professional or Shipley certification is preferred.
  • A demonstrated track record of identifying and closing new business in similar organizations using a consultative and collaborative multidisciplinary team approach is required.
  • A strong understanding of requirements shaping and the acquisition and procurement process within the Department of Defense, with specific focus on Department of Army-related organizations, is required.
  • Strong familiarity with the Department of Army customer base, industrial base, or user communities supporting acquisition, development, testing, integration, sustainment, and requirements development activities at key hub locations is required.
  • A recent track record of winning Army programs is required.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Capture, Proposals, Operations, and Technical Subject Matter Experts to pursue a unified Department of Army business development strategy.
  • Collaborate with other market Business Development Managers to drive new business and business relationships across all market accounts.
  • Identify, qualify, and maintain a robust pipeline of new business opportunities.
  • Identify potential future business opportunities by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements.
  • Maintain a current and relevant understanding of emerging and growth markets and long-term trends in Department of Army-related technology development, procurement, and operational needs.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within Department of Army-related program offices and developmental organizations across the Department of Defense.
  • Build partnerships with other defense contractors and prime integrators to accelerate time to value and multiply Odyssey's impact.
  • Represent Odyssey at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to engage with potential clients, promote services, and expand the professional network.
  • Assist in responding to market research Requests for Information and sources-sought notifications, as well as proposal reviews and activity, ensuring alignment with customer needs and compliance with requirements.
  • Meet or exceed annual sales and profitability goals established by Odyssey and contribute to goal development.
  • Prepare presentations and brief the Executive Leadership team at stage reviews, managers' meetings, and offsites.
  • Continuously contribute to the evolution and expansion of Odyssey's reputation and engagement activity.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Department of Army customers and markets is preferred.
  • Ten or more years of military or federal civil service experience is strongly preferred.

Odyssey lands NVIDIA and Samsung backing to build AI world simulator

Odyssey, an AI research company developing frontier world models, has secured investment from NVentures, NVIDIA's venture capital arm, and Samsung Next. The funding will support development of a general-purpose world simulator capable of generating infinitely long, interactive simulations from any starting point. Founded two years ago, Odyssey recently released Odyssey-2 Pro, a world model that can be integrated into applications across robotics, gaming, education and defence. The investment adds to backing from GV, EQT, Air Street Capital and notable angel investors including Jeff Dean and Elad Gil. The company will use the capital to improve simulation length, quality and interactivity, whilst scaling infrastructure for training next-generation world models. Odyssey's research team includes talent from DeepMind, OpenAI, Tesla, Waymo and Meta.
