  • Must be certified by the Indiana State Department of Health as a Certified Nursing Assistant in good standing.
  • Must have completed a state-approved training program in medication administration and hold current Qualified Medication Aide certification from the Indiana State Department of Health.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of safe and effective nursing practices within Indiana.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
Responsibilities
  • Provide medication administration, daily care, health needs, safety, and comfort for residents.
  • Administer and document oral, eye, topical, suppository, and ear-drop medications, along with other medications ordered by the physician.
  • Perform treatments for minor skin conditions according to physician orders.
  • Maintain the locked medication cart and medication keys according to facility policy.
  • Check catheters frequently and provide catheter care as assigned by the nurse.
  • Document all medications and treatments in the medication record and nurses' notes according to policy.
  • Maintain resident confidentiality and protect residents' rights and privacy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the staff nurse or designee.
