  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
  • Knowledge of surgical techniques and equipment.
  • Understanding of UMMC infection control and regulatory sterilization standards.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills for effective interaction with surgical team members.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain inventory of clean and sterilized surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies in accordance with UMMC and regulatory standards.
  • Provide basic surgical support, including room setup, sterile field management, handling specimens and instruments, and room turnover.
  • Assess equipment, instrument, and supply needs for surgical procedures and ensure their availability.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies during surgical procedures.
  • Follow infection control policies, AORN recommended practices, OSHA guidelines, and other regulatory requirements to maintain a safe work environment for self, coworkers, and patients.
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service standards.
