7+ years experience with a blend of industry and corporate accounting (preferably with Big 4, start-up, and fintech background)
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with a CPA
Strong technical accounting, GAAP, and SEC reporting knowledge
2+ years of managing and developing junior accountants/bookkeepers
Detail-oriented with strong analytical, planning, and reporting skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills along with a sense of ownership, responsibility, and autonomy toward problems and solutions
Expert with Quickbooks, Excel/Google Spreadsheet modeling
Experience with or interest in the creator economy

Responsibilities

Perform accurate and timely monthly books closing in order to prepare financial packages to leadership (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, and operating metrics)
Supervise and perform payroll and accounts payable functions
Review monthly accruals, monthly and quarterly reporting, and cash projections
Lead and oversee the entire external auditing process
Manage statutory compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and relevant tax filings
Ensure accounting records and reports are maintained timely, accurately, and in accordance with applicable policies and procedures
Partner with the Strategic Finance team to provide business and product-level insights to executive leadership teams
Work with our Capital Markets team to support investor relations and capital raising initiatives

They’re also businesses. That means they have business needs—managing revenues, expenses, savings, credit, banking. We’re building products that help creators spend less time worrying about finances so they can focus on creating.

Our Finance team is looking for an Accounting Lead to join who will have full leadership of the entire accounting organization and work directly with our internal teams to manage and execute our mission-critical internal financial planning analysis (FP&A) and treasury functions. Ideally, we are looking for someone who has the willingness to be a scrappy individual contributor for the first few months while Karat scales its Finance and Accounting organization.

Life as an Accounting Lead at Karat:

What You’ll Need:

The base salary range for this role is between $120,000-$150,000 base.
