Requirements
  • Demonstrated success in product management or related experience at fast-growing companies
  • Previous experience or exposure to consumer-facing experience and content distribution problems at high scale. Experience working closely with machine learning engineering partners is a plus
  • Strong technical breadth and judgment - ability to quickly ramp up and go deep on a range of technologies, ability to identify technical risks and tradeoffs
  • Proven ability to lead in ambiguous environments, aligning across functions, teams, and orgs to deliver on time in a highly collaborative environment
  • Strong analytical skills to define product strategy and drive decision making, making appropriate trade-offs based on data analysis and qualitative feedback from Pinners
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with clear communication of complex topics
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills, organizational awareness, and ability to persuade others to accomplish program objectives while holding yourself and your team to a high standard of accountability
Responsibilities
  • Chart out an exciting vision of where search and recommendations at Pinterest are headed, including cross-cutting machine learning initiatives and the user and content understanding needed to deliver the best content to our customers
  • Deeply understand our users, synthesizing qualitative and quantitative data on how they behave, how they respond to different experiences and where the largest gaps are in meeting their needs
  • Proactively build partnerships across Pinterest, leveraging the best machine learning solutions across the company to build compelling discovery user experiences that seamlessly blend user generated, sponsored, editorial and shoppable content
  • Act as a spokesperson for Discovery with diverse internal stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds including senior leadership
  • Build a strong culture of experimentation and rapid learning and execution within Discovery Relevance, ultimately driving Pinterest-level engagement and customer retention
  • Mentor peer product managers in Discovery, building their skills and domain knowledge as they continue to grow their careers in product management
