Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Two or more years of experience are required, preferably in a service-related industry.
  • Candidates must be able to pass security background and airport clearance checks.
  • Candidates must have reliable attendance, be available during regular scheduled hours, evenings, and some Saturdays.
  • Candidates must have their own transportation to and from Denton Enterprise Airport and complete online driver training and a skills assessment.
  • Candidates must maintain detailed records and demonstrate organization, prioritization, time management, attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Candidates must be able to use common recordkeeping software applications, Microsoft Excel, and Google Drive.
  • Candidates must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Candidates must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds and be able to stand, walk, sit, use their hands, reach, climb stairs, talk, and hear as required.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct opening and closing shift procedures for the TWU Flight Center.
  • Assist with on-the-job training of additional student workers.
  • Assist with managing and creating dispatch schedules.
  • Accurately log and amend flight reservations for flight students.
  • Check required pre-flight documentation.
  • Coordinate and track simulator usage.
  • Greet students professionally.
  • Answer dispatch phones.
  • Provide confidential communications to students regarding flight account balances as needed.
  • Notify appropriate leadership and maintain accurate data entries in the event of an aircraft emergency.
  • Prioritize dispatch duties to support smooth aircraft handovers and ensure required documents are properly filed.
  • Serve as a backup shuttle driver from Denton Municipal Airport to the TWU Denton campus as needed.
  • Maintain information security and privacy in accordance with applicable federal and state regulations and university policies.
  • Report unsafe work conditions, unsafe practices, and near-miss incidents to the supervisor and Risk Management.
  • Complete injury and accident reports as required within 24 hours.
Desired Qualifications
  • Some college coursework is preferred.
  • Experience in aviation operations, particularly flight, is a plus.
  • A basic understanding of Doswell Aeronautical Sciences pilot licensing types and lessons is preferred.
