Requirements
  • High school degree or equivalent is preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to pass the Interpreter Assessment with an average total score of 90% or higher.
  • One year of interpreter experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Current Team Members already certified under Tyson interpreter program or other language certification acquired through an academic organization will be preferred.
  • Must have strong verbal communication skills in their dominant language and the English language.
  • Must agree to sign a confidentiality agreement.
  • Must be able to work independently with little to no supervision, while at the same time be a member of a team to coordinate and provide support as needed.
  • Must be able to demonstrate strong organizational, decision-making, and follow-up skills.
  • Basic computer and typing skills preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver's license to attend outside medical appointments.
Responsibilities
  • Facilitate effective communication between two parties that do not speak the same language by converting one spoken language to another.
  • Interpreting services include but are not limited to Employment, Training & Orientation, Meetings, Human Resources, Health Services, and other operational activities as assigned.
  • This position is held to a strict code of confidentiality.
  • The interpreter must be willing to work in all environments of the facility.
