Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related technical field is required.
  • At least 15 years of design and project management delivery experience on heavy transportation infrastructure projects is required.
  • Experience meeting operational business goals, managing clients, developing win strategies, and preparing bids is required.
  • A proven track record of successful delivery for road and highway projects according to Florida Department of Transportation standards, including conventional and design-build project execution, is required.
  • A Professional Engineering License in the State of Florida is required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform project management and engineering tasks for the planning and design of transportation facilities, including freeways, arterials, intersections, railroads, and drainage.
  • Produce plans, specifications, cost estimates, and schedules for transportation construction projects.
  • Prepare and oversee engineering reports, engineering calculations and analyses, and technical documentation for design projects.
  • Plan and design highways, arterials, traffic, drainage, and site-design projects.
  • Attend meetings and interact with clients.
  • Oversee project delivery by directing and overseeing project team members completing roadway, traffic, drainage, and site-design projects and reports.
  • Answer questions and review shop drawings during the construction phase of projects.
  • Oversee team members and support their development.
  • Schedule regular status meetings and in-person meetings with team members.
  • Develop and manage labor projections for the team.
  • Facilitate team resourcing.
  • Review and oversee project budgets.
  • Work with team members to ensure quality expectations are met through quality assurance and quality control.
  • Develop contingency and team-member transition plans, identify successors, and provide mentorship.
  • Communicate with the Division Leader, Area Business Manager, and other leaders within the area.
  • Create a work environment that retains talent, provides employee-development opportunities, communicates performance concerns, supports positive morale, and acquires new talent.
  • Lead project management for projects both technically and financially to meet client expectations and complete quality projects on time and on budget.
  • Work with team members on project performance.
  • Work with the Business Manager on project-management meetings and review at-risk projects.
  • Manage and optimize utilization by reviewing, discussing, and resolving utilization issues with team members.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Participate in proposal and request-for-quotation go/no-go decisions.
  • Provide input and support in client service team meetings.
  • Coordinate with the Division Leader to optimize utilization and workload by sharing work across multiple teams.
