- Two plus years of experience working for utility companies
- Experience with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC) and distribution construction & design standards
- Experience with power system planning and operations
- Ability to read electrical schematics
- Experience in using power system analysis software
- Skilled with attention to detail and excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Experience in Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Work Management Systems (WMS), and CYME
- Design and construction work package development for overhead and underground electric distribution systems
- Prepares scaled work order maps using Computer Aided Design software (CAD), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and other client design systems
- Consults with Planners and other planning personnel to prepare design drawings and modifications as required
- Complete asset assessment on overhead and underground electric equipment and circuits
- Completes engineering functions and calculations based on field information and redline from Planner
- Perform engineering calculations that may include: structural analysis of poles, guying, cable pulling, electric demand, transformer sizing, voltage drop and flicker, and coordination of protective devices
- Prepares joint pole authorizations based on field information and redline from Planner
- Input customer, project, and billing information
- Review and assemble work order packages for delivery to Client
- Prepare forestry trimming requests, facilitating permit and Right-of-Way acquisition, and customer advocacy such as acquiring easements
- Manage scope, schedule and budget of work assigned
- Review engineering design packages with clients
- Perform functional tasks, planning, and/or customer follow-up
- Perform scope analysis of work assigned and maintain schedule adherence in support of client priorities
- Provide technical oversight and QAQC of team designs and analysis
- Establish and develop client relationships while providing a positive influence within your team and collaborating with peers
- Initiate continuous improvement to work flow processes that drive efficiency and high quality standards in client design deliverables
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
