Requirements
  • Three years of field experience is preferred.
  • Expected to possess or be willing to complete a 40-hour HAZWOPER course under OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120; training will be provided if not current.
  • Basic knowledge of computer and technology tools, including smartphones, tablets, and Microsoft Office programs such as Teams, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • A valid driver's license with a driving record in good standing is required.
  • Must meet physical requirements and pass a human performance evaluation, including driving a pickup truck, walking inspections of improved and unimproved property, lifting and carrying equipment up to 50 pounds unassisted, hand excavation and digging, carrying and climbing ladders, operating manlifts, working from manlifts, operating electric tools, using hand tools, and providing services under varying weather conditions.
Responsibilities
  • Learn and comply with SCS policies and procedures, including the Injury and Illness Prevention Plan, Quality Management System, and Standards of Business Conduct and Ethics.
  • Gain fundamental knowledge of the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of environmental systems.
  • Work with senior staff to plan and execute assigned tasks, including daily Crew Activity Plans, monitoring, and adjusting environmental control system components.
  • Perform basic maintenance and repairs of environmental control system components at the direction of senior staff.
  • Conduct field observations and actions and document them in field notes and daily logs for use in client communications.
  • Use field instruments to measure environmental control system data, including calibrating and properly caring for and handling the instruments.
  • Participate in the preliminary review of collected data with a supervisor to learn the fundamentals of field-data interpretation.
  • Work with senior staff to make operational adjustments to environmental control system components based on preliminary data reviews.
  • Use appropriate tools, equipment, and materials to maintain and repair environmental control system components after training.
  • Assist Laborers, Field Technician II, Senior Field Technicians, and other staff with removing landfill liquids pumps.
