Requirements
  • High school graduation or equivalent and two years of experience in administrative or clerical work.
  • Experience with University of Washington tools and systems.
  • Advanced skill with office administrative software, web platforms, and social media platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the Center for Statistics and Social Sciences space to maintain a welcoming, professional, and safe main-office environment.
  • Provide information and advice to students, staff, faculty, and the public about Center for Statistics and Social Sciences programs and activities in person, by phone, email, and mail.
  • Manage equipment, keys, email contact lists, office supplies, and related records, and troubleshoot issues as needed.
  • Arrange communications with university shops regarding facilities changes, telecommunications changes, repairs, and cleaning requests.
  • Maintain records and files in accordance with departmental guidelines and University of Washington policies.
  • Produce and update departmental course and time schedules, including Center for Statistics and Social Sciences and jointly held courses.
  • Enter, verify, and update data to ensure accuracy.
  • Communicate with faculty and staff in other departments to support Center for Statistics and Social Sciences programs.
  • Create and edit Center for Statistics and Social Sciences communication materials, including working with information technology staff to update the website and composing correspondence to affiliate faculty.
  • Coordinate the Center for Statistics and Social Sciences curriculum, including Center-responsible courses and courses held jointly with departments within and outside the College of Arts and Sciences.
  • Resolve classroom assignment issues as needed.
  • Promote classes, order books, and initiate course evaluations.
  • Support students and faculty by providing information about Center for Statistics and Social Sciences tracks and course registration, distributing add codes, and responding to questions about Center for Statistics and Social Sciences programs.
  • Plan and organize the weekly Center for Statistics and Social Sciences seminar and other events, including researching and reserving meeting facilities, coordinating and distributing program and meeting materials, arranging posters and meals, and attending meetings and events as needed.
  • Manage the Center for Statistics and Social Sciences inbox and email contact lists for communicating with affiliates, students, and staff.
  • Manage purchasing through Workday, the Procurement Credit Card, and the CTA card for travel.
  • Make travel arrangements for Center for Statistics and Social Sciences guests, including conference registration, airline, and lodging arrangements, and manage travel reimbursements.
  • Process and track event-related budgets and guest reimbursement progress.
  • Stay current with University of Washington fiscal policies by attending relevant training.
  • Perform related duties as required.
