Responsibilities
  • Oversee supervisors and associates within the maintenance and facilities team, including indirect supervision of associates on multiple shifts and at other locations.
  • Lead standardization of maintenance practices across regional sites, including preventive maintenance programs, spare parts inventory management, and CMMS use.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DNR, state, federal, company and departmental policy.
  • Prepare and monitor department budgets for maintenance and facilities.
  • Oversee training and indoctrination of departmental associates to improve work performance and acquaint associates with company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct monthly department safety meetings with all department associates. Assure this training is presented and understood for those involved. Keep up to date in required safety training and adhere to this training.
  • Write, train and ensure adherence to departmental SOPs and work instructions.
  • Develop and lead technical training initiatives and apprenticeships to build a professionalized maintenance workforce aligned with future business needs.
  • Adhere to established EHS policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for all associates.
  • Adhere to established Policies, Standards, and Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs).
  • Undertake job responsibilities in a manner consistent with the Company's Core Values.
  • Development, implementation, training and monitoring of predictive and preventative maintenance system with a focus on equipment uptime, equipment performance and maintenance efficiency.
  • Collaborate with operations and engineering personnel to evaluate and resolve facility and equipment problems. Including obtaining and coordinating the materials, equipment and resources necessary to complete necessary repairs.
  • Review production and maintenance reports and statistics to plan maintenance activities.
  • Schedule repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
  • Support long-term facilities planning, including energy management, preventative lifecycle planning, and strategic capital improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor and oversee maintenance of all facilities, utilities and related facility equipment, including gas, electricity, HVAC, and compressed air.
  • Coordinate janitorial, snow removal and grounds maintenance including contracted services.
  • Assist in the evaluation, development and management of service contracts to supplement onsite maintenance and facility resources.
  • Oversee capital projects involving purchasing of light vehicles, industrial vehicles, buildings, building improvements, and facility equipment.
  • Plan, budget, and schedule facilities modifications including cost estimates, bids, layouts, and contracts for construction, working with outside vendors and contractors. Inspect construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established specifications.
  • Oversee purchasing and stocking systems for: facilities and maintenance supplies, as well as repair parts for machinery, equipment, and furniture.
  • Oversee the execution of equipment moves, ensuring safe practices and appropriate equipment and rigging is used.

Apogee posts weakest Q4 among commercial building products stocks with $348.6M revenue miss

Apogee, which designs architectural products including high-performance glass for commercial buildings, reported Q4 revenues of $348.6 million, up 2.1% year on year but missing analysts' expectations by 1.9%. The company delivered the weakest performance against analyst estimates among commercial building products stocks tracked. Full-year earnings per share guidance also missed expectations significantly. Chief executive Donald Nolan acknowledged the challenging environment whilst highlighting the company's operational foundation and balance sheet strength. The five commercial building products stocks tracked reported a satisfactory Q4 overall, with revenues beating consensus estimates by 1.2%. However, the sector has declined collectively, with average share prices down 1.6% since latest earnings. Apogee's stock fell 7.3% following its results and currently trades at $34.56.

Apogee Enterprises announced that Mark Augdahl has been appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately. Augdahl has served as the Company's Interim CFO since January 7, 2026.
