Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing as a registered nurse.
  • Current registered nurse state licensure.
  • Completion of Fresenius Internal Clinical Leadership Training, Milestone I and Milestone 2.
  • At least 2 years of Clinical Manager experience at Fresenius Medical Care.
  • An additional 6 months of chronic or acute dialysis nursing experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership competencies and management skills, including communication, customer service, continuous quality improvement, relationship development, results orientation, team building, motivating employees, performance management, and decision making.
  • Demonstrated management skills to supervise facility personnel and ensure delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Successful completion of the Ishihara Color Blind Test.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee daily dialysis facility operations in accordance with legal, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director and Clinical Manager or Charge Nurse to provide quality patient care from admission through discharge.
  • Make daily decisions to ensure continuity of care and patient and staff safety.
  • Market available services through presentations to physicians and dialysis facilities.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development plans for all direct reports.
  • Partner with Human Resources, Quality, Education, and Technical Services departments.
  • Collaborate with the Home Therapies Program Manager to oversee the facility’s Home Therapies Program.
  • Maintain medical and operational records and comply with data collection and auditing activities.
  • Complete Internal Classification of Disease coding and required network reporting.
  • Coordinate on-site state and federal surveys.
  • Manage short- and long-term objectives with responsibility for costs, methods, staffing, and results.
  • Administer daily clinic business operations, including center staff functions, patient-care quality, physical plant and equipment maintenance, and inventory control.
  • Manage profit and loss and other financial aspects of the center to meet budget and key performance indicators.
  • Coordinate patient care from admission through discharge.
  • Address patient and family concerns and questions.
  • Oversee timely completion of patient-care assessments and care plans.
  • Manage patient schedules and develop action plans for missed treatments.
  • Report changes in patient status, including clinical, insurance, travel, and transportation issues.
  • Participate in selection and hiring of new team members and ensure completion of orientation and mandatory training.
  • Ensure patient-care employees complete required training and maintain current licensures and certifications.
  • Support clinical staff and encourage professional growth.
  • Maintain knowledge of company benefits, policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Obtain clinical feedback for employee evaluations, establish annual goals, and conduct evaluations.
  • Document disciplinary actions and confer with the Director of Operations and Human Resources as needed.
  • Manage staff scheduling and payroll.
  • Facilitate physician privileges applications and compliance with medical staff bylaws.
  • Maintain physician relationships and ensure regular, effective communication.
  • Participate in the regional Governing Body interdisciplinary team.
  • Implement and maintain Continuous Quality Improvement and Quality Assessment and Improvement programs.
  • Review center operations for compliance with federal and state laws.
  • Support quality standards through regulatory compliance and Continuous Quality Improvement tools.
  • Implement facility-specific action plans to achieve quality standards.
  • Oversee training required by company policy and risk-management initiatives.
  • Address adverse safety events and action thresholds with the Charge Nurse.
  • Communicate and implement quality policies and procedures for facility staff.
  • Manage facility staff workload and provide guidance and leadership.
  • Create and maintain employee schedules according to facility staffing needs.
  • Consult with the Charge Nurse and Medical Director to optimize clinical staffing.
  • Provide ongoing informal feedback and formal annual performance evaluations.
  • Set annual staff goals with the Charge Nurse and Medical Director.
  • Manage hiring, firing, and disciplinary actions for department staffing.
  • Maintain documentation of disciplinary meetings and consult with Human Resources and the Director of Operations.
  • Ensure successful new-hire orientation, required training, and mandatory in-services.
  • Ensure documentation of current licensure, annual in-service training, and policy and procedure updates.
  • Provide training and guidance to facility staff to develop clinical competencies and professional growth.
  • Provide staff information regarding company benefits and Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Participate in employee recognition and satisfaction programs.
  • Communicate corporate, division, and company initiatives, policies, and procedures to facility staff.
  • Use knowledge of company services and products to contribute to business growth.
  • Maintain facility environmental integrity and safety.
  • Schedule maintenance and repair of equipment, operating systems, and the physical structure.
  • Monitor facility security.
  • Coordinate inventory and supply management, including inventory counts and purchase orders.
  • Manage medication, laboratory, inventory, supply, and equipment utilization to meet cost goals.
  • Contribute to facility policy and procedure development and update related manuals.
  • Direct information gathering to support billing, billing issues, and collections.
  • Coordinate and approve facility payroll.
  • Participate in internal and external state and federal surveys.
  • Review provider contracts for vendor services, including insurance, laboratory, and facility cleaning.
  • Supervise Charge Nurse and direct patient-care staff.
  • Perform desk, computer, patient, staff, and physician interaction duties in a healthcare facility.
  • Stand for prolonged periods, bend over, and move patients and equipment up to 200 pounds with assistance when required.
  • Travel to regional, business unit, and corporate meetings as required.

  • Medical/surgical or intensive care unit/coronary care unit experience.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
