Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering, or current registration as a Professional Engineer in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
  • Five years of design experience in the nuclear or process chemical industry.
  • Knowledge of ASME B31.3 code requirements.
  • Ability to walk down systems in the field.
  • Ability to work a 40-hour work week on one of the site's scheduled work patterns.
  • Ability to fulfill the role's goals and objectives and support business development and other company efforts.
  • Understanding and proficiency with Microsoft Office and business technology tools.
  • Ability to use Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Adobe Acrobat, data analytics tools, and Visio, with the ability to learn additional tools as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering support services on assigned Savannah River Remediation engineering teams.
  • Perform engineering analysis and design development.
  • Generate design output documents, including Process Flow Diagrams, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, System Descriptions, Mechanical Equipment Lists, Mechanical Equipment Sizing and Calculations, Piping and Valve Specifications, ASME B&PVC Design and Evaluation including Pressure Protection Design, Material Handling Equipment, and Mechanical Procurement Requirements, Specifications, and Data Sheets.
  • Conduct vendor document reviews.
  • Travel off site as required to interface with vendors, fabricators, and other engineering organizations.
  • Use Savannah River Remediation processes and procedures while providing engineering services.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with two-dimensional MicroStation Computer-Aided Drafting and Design.
