Requirements
  • Research Specialist A requires a Bachelor of Science and 0 to 1 year of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Research Specialist B requires a Bachelor of Science and 1 to 2 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • The position is contingent upon continued funding.
Responsibilities
  • Contribute to all aspects of ongoing projects.
  • Manage day-to-day laboratory operations, purchasing, and ordering.
  • Process human pancreas tissue for the Human Pancreas Analysis Program.
  • Maintain cell lines.
  • Perform primary cell culture.
  • Perform flow cytometry staining.
  • Manage a small mouse colony in collaboration with the Principal Investigator.
  • Undertake research projects utilizing RNA/DNA fluorescence in situ hybridization and/or next-generation sequencing.
  • Conduct independent research projects and receive training in next-generation sequencing and computational biology.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree is preferred.
