Requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems.
  • Ability to independently gather required information to organize and perform financial analysis assignments.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, database software, and financial data analysis tools for complex financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify problems, gather information from multiple sources, analyze complex data, devise and evaluate solutions, make recommendations, and implement selected solutions.
  • Skill to develop new systems and procedures to improve delivery of services.
  • A related Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree; Finance or Accounting is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience conducting complex financial analysis, planning, preparation, and administration of a multi-million-dollar budget.
  • Ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues throughout the organization, with a strong service orientation.
  • Critical thinking and attention to detail, with proven organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to function as a member of a team.
  • Ability to work creatively, collaboratively, and effectively and to support inclusiveness within UC Irvine Libraries and the campus.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
Responsibilities
  • Develop recommendations for new and revised Business Office policies and procedures and ensure compliance with Libraries, campus, and University of California policies and procedures.
  • Manage and coordinate the production and complex analysis of monthly financial reports and oversee the associated operating budgets of assigned accounts.
  • Conduct complex financial analysis and reconciliation of the permanent budget, identify errors, and resolve problems.
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting for recharge units and sales and services activities.
  • Serve as Fiscal Officer for assigned accounts and subject matter expert for corrections, budget adjustments, internal billing, and intercampus transfers.
Desired Qualifications
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources.
  • Knowledge of working in a library environment.
  • Knowledge and experience using the Kuali Financial System, Decision Support, UCPath Reports, Tableau, and a data warehouse for research and reporting purposes.
