Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in technical writing, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role.
  • Proven ability to enable winning teams by managing, coaching, and developing a team.
  • Strong understanding of technical concepts and the ability to translate them into clear, concise documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and mentor a team of technical writers, inspiring and motivating others to high performance.
  • Ensure high-quality documentation and consistency across all products within the business portfolio.
  • Develop and implement long-term strategies for the technical writing team that considers the functional strategy, standards of excellence, and accessibility while aligning with the outcomes of a Product Operating Model.
  • Build relationships with colleagues outside of the department to understand the challenges facing other business functions and areas.
  • Network and evangelize team capabilities in order to identify new opportunities to accelerate commercial success.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather information and ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation.
  • Lead initiatives that prioritize customers and enhance the documentation user experience.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices and continuous improvement in technical writing and documentation within the team.
  • Utilize data and analytics to assess and prioritize documentation initiatives, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to meet the most critical business and customer needs.
  • Continuously explore and evaluate new tools and technologies, including Generative AI, to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the technical writing team.
