Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in Electronic Instrumentation or Electronics Technician AND 6 months experience installing, maintaining, and operating a building automation system.
  • Equivalency/Substitution: Experience or a combination of education & related experience can be considered in lieu of degree. A one-to-one ratio is used to determine the number of years of experience required in place of a degree.
  • Certified: Valid Oklahoma Driver's License in order to drive University vehicles or ability to obtain within 30 days from hire date.
  • Skills: Basic knowledge of the use of test equipment such as volt meters, manometers, and test gauges Basic knowledge of tools used to repair and maintain the system Ability to read and understand simple blueprints, diagrams, specifications and sequence of operation descriptions Ability to comprehend and follow general instructions, procedures, safety rules and regulations Ability to work as a team member.
Responsibilities
  • Assists with routine preventative maintenance to ensure building automation systems (BAS) continue to run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Assists with the installation and upgrading of the system.
  • Assists with monitoring and controlling the system.
  • Assists with troubleshooting, calibrating, and repairing Steam and Chilled water metering devices.
  • Assists with troubleshooting and programing all types of variable frequency drivers.
  • Assists with analyzing steam, chilled water, and condensate return of all buildings for monthly utility billing.
  • Assists with scheduling climate controls campus wide to maximize energy savings while maintaining occupant comfort.
  • May collaborate with Operating Engineers, Plumbing, Electrical, BioMed, and Steam and Chill Water Plant (SCWP) and other shops to troubleshoot and solve non-utility controls problems.
  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the functions of any site support position to include assisting any skilled trade.
