Requirements
  • A Master of Science in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice from an accredited institution is required.
  • An active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice is required.
  • National board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner, or relevant specialty is required.
  • Wound care experience is preferred but not required because comprehensive training is provided.
  • A Drug Enforcement Administration registration or willingness to obtain one is required.
  • A valid driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, and comfort with significant daily driving between nursing facilities are required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive wound care to patients in nursing facilities.
  • Use wound-healing treatments including debridement and advanced dressings.
  • Manage patient outcomes based on clinical expertise and direction.
  • Travel between multiple patient locations daily.
  • Build a work schedule collaboratively with the team.
  • Participate in continuing education through company-provided continuing medical education, conferences, workshops, and online courses.

Skilled Wound Care is a physician-led provider of wound-care services for skilled nursing and long-term-care facilities. Clinicians deliver bedside assessment and treatment while collaborating with facility teams on documentation, prevention, and follow-up.
