Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated, quick-learning Junior Quantitative Developer for a well-established and growing trading desk in our Toronto office. This individual will be involved in the development of our cutting-edge, quantitative trading platform which competes in the most competitive markets in the world.
Responsibilities:
- Work side by side with senior Portfolio Manager and experienced Software Developers on a trading desk
- Learn proprietary methodologies, signal generation, and trading systems that support an established algorithmic trading business
- Improve and extend the core trading models, enhancing existing trading signals and identifying and pursuing new opportunities
- Design, develop and test applications, working with the trading team to implement automated trading strategies and execution algorithms
- Run quantitative models live on our high-performance trading infrastructure, and analyze their daily performance to maintain ongoing profitability
- Write high-performing, well-tested Python code that meets coding standards and business requirements
- Review and enhance existing trading and analytical infrastructure
- Develop new functionality and software to support trading
Requirements:
- Bachelors’ Degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Engineering
- 1-3 years of experience in a financial services quantitative development role
- Have a strong understanding of Python, SQL, C++ 11/14/17
- Have a strong understanding of Financial Derivatives (Options, Futures, Swaps, Forwards)
- Have a strong understanding of software development principles (OO design, TDD, etc.)
- Willingness to work market hours
