The Division of Mental Hygiene programming within the Suffolk County Department of Health Services is seeking to fill the role of Health Program Analyst I. This role will assist in the collection and analysis of data relative to the Division of Mental Hygiene programming, in particular analysis outcome reports and spending of our contracted community based agencies.

Key Elements Of The Role:
Prepares reports summarizing data points provided from other sources in response to joint efforts.
Assists in the development of standards and criteria for policy alternatives in terms of the fiscal and operational implications;
Assists in the regulatory process for prior consults, county planning system reports and administrative actions.
Maintains relevant technical, complex and diverse records, history, and correspondence for all community based agencies contracted through the Division to provide services to county residents, in an orderly and useful manner.
Determine needed modifications and improvements in project structure, design, administrative procedures and implementation of changes;
Assists in the preparation of cost analyses of alternative management systems, procedures and methods;
Assists in the review of new and proposed federal, state and local legislation to determine the effect on health programs and policies.
Perform all other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.

Salary: $51,913

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from a college with federally-authorized accreditation or registration by NY State with a Bachelor's Degree, and two (2) years of experience in health administration, including policy analysis, planning, management analysis, operations research or program evaluation;
OR
A Master’s Degree in Health Administration or a related field.
NOTE: Additional graduate education from a college with federally-authorized accreditation or registration by NY State in Health Administration or a related field will be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.
Type of license or certificate required: Valid NYS Driver’s License upon appointment.
