Tax Accounting Analyst @ AffiniPay

AffiniPay’s Accounting Team is growing as it searches for a Tax Accounting Analyst. As the Tax Accounting Analyst at AffiniPay, this person will have a direct impact ensuring tax compliance across the business. This person will help with all aspects of tax, including sales tax, local tax and Payroll tax. Our ideal candidate is a collaborative team player, who is looking to make a direct impact.

What You’ll Do:

Process tax notices and maintain accurate records in our internal tracking system
Proactively communicate with federal, state, and local tax authorities via phone calls
Monitor assigned tax tickets in Zendesk and ensure timely resolution
Work closely with the Payroll team on topics related to Payroll Tax filings
Assist with calculating and making quarterly estimated and extension tax payments
Manage and update our tax compliance calendar to stay ahead of deadlines
Help prepare and distribute quarterly tax distribution emails to relevant stakeholders
Collaborate with the AP team to ensure proper booking of all tax payments
Initiate and process purchase requisitions for tax service invoices
Participate in monthly reviews of sales tax returns for accuracy and completeness
Prepare and file personal property tax returns following established procedures
Assist in the preparation of California environmental fee workpapers
Contribute to the documentation of tax-related processes and procedures for future reference
Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned, such as certified mailing and special projects

About You:

2 + years experience working in a tax or accounting role
Bachelor’s degree required; Tax, Accounting, or related. CPA preferred.
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally across functions
Experience working in a support role with multiple client-facing responsibilities to drive adoption and compliance
