  • Candidates MUST possess active Secret security clearance, and current IAT Level 2 certification, to be considered.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with 2 years of experience OR 0 years with Master's OR 6 years' experience in lieu of degree.
  • DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA) is required.
  • DOD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret clearance.
  • Ability to obtain an SCI clearance.
  • Knowledge of Local Area Networking (LAN) fundamentals with specific experience working with CISCO Ethernet routers, switches and protocols in TCP-IP based communications systems.
  • Experience with UNIX/LINUX command line interface.
  • Strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, the ability to interface with a diverse group, and the ability to work unsupervised at a remote site.
  • Availability to be on call for mission critical system responses when required.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of time as needed.
  • Candidate must have, or be able to obtain, a US passport.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily GMD system backups and health checks.
  • Support on-duty warfighters with account and password issues.
  • Maintain GMD assets to a level of system availability of over 99% for the customer.
  • Maintain and repair network hardware including routers, switches, taclanes, firewalls, etc.
  • Maintain and repair computing hardware including servers, workstations, media converters, thin clients, etc.
  • Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software installation, interconnection, and interfacing.
  • Proficiency in performing logistics functions required to maintain operational readiness.
  • Perform as Subject Matter Expert in GMD operations and procedures, for console operators, GMOC, and other GMD MDIOC on-site personnel.
  • Support and assist with training on-duty console operators with initial troubleshooting assistance, review of operator checklists and procedures, and coordination with external stakeholders.
  • Provide training as required to government and industry system operators.
  • Possess the ability to effectively communicate with a variety of military and contractor personnel.
  • Candidate must be willing to work during occasional varied shifts, including holidays and weekends, and on-call as necessary.
  • International travel to support remote site installation will be required.

  • Experience with OSPF and Multicast routing protocols
  • CCNA certified technician
  • Practical experience with Active Directory
  • Process orientation and strong skills in using and following documented processes / checklists
  • Knowledge of military command, control, and communication systems
  • Strong Communications skills
