Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required.
  • 4-6 years of experience in applications support or production environment required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
  • Strong system-administration skills on Windows Server and Linux (RHEL), with expertise in Apache, Tomcat, virtualization, networking, storage and cloud services.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Visual Basic, Python, Shell, Ansible and Ansible Tower)
  • Experience with SQL databases (MS SQL Server, Oracle, Vertica) and performance-tuning.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL Incident, problem and change management processes, and an understanding of technology governance, risk and compliance
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology and metrics-driven reporting (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent analytical, collaboration and communications skills, with a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy team environment.
Responsibilities
  • Provide end-to-end infrastructure and Application support for GSS Clearing and Global Collateral line of business, including Start-of-day (SOD), End-of-day (EOD) and batch processing.
  • Administer middleware software/hardware, perform testing, troubleshoot issues, and support disaster recovery planning, testing and execution.
  • Monitor system health, respond to alerts, diagnose incidents and drive timely resolution to minimize downtime and service disruptions.
  • Lead incident post-mortems, document root-cause analysis and implement preventive measures to avoid repeat issues
  • Coordinate with cross-functional application and infrastructure teams to resolve moderate-to-complex technical problems
  • Gather, report and track key metrics against SLAs and OLAs to ensure compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Review, implement and maintain file-transmission requests, software installations, upgrades and performance tuning across distributed, web, mainframe and ancillary systems.
  • Contribute to special projects and team objectives, championing continuous-improvement initiatives.
  • Provide off-hour, weekend and holiday on-call support as required.
  • Communicate status and recommendations-both formally and informally-to customers and end users.
  • Demonstrated expertise in system administration across Windows Server and Linux (RHEL), cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), networking and virtualization technologies, and infrastructure automation.
  • Proficient in scripting (PowerShell, Visual Basic, Shell), SQL query development, managing Apache and Tomcat servers.
  • Hands on experience with Agile methodologies and enterprise databases, including MS SQL Server, Oracle and Vertica.
