Requirements
  • High School diploma or Equivalent (Associates degree in Human Services preferred).
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel (with ability to learn related Computer Programs).
  • A minimum of one year successful office work experience in related field, experience in Human Services preferred.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to keep information in a confidential manner.
  • The ability to work pleasantly and compassionately with all types of people.
  • The ability to perform multiple tasks and to facilitate efficient office function.
  • Must have an appreciation for and an understanding of the Mission of The Salvation Army.
  • Child Protection Clearances: PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check along with renewals every five years.
Responsibilities
  • Report to work well-groomed and in compliance with dress code.
  • Develop/maintain a professional relationship with co -workers and supervisor.
  • Maintain confidentiality related to clients and programs of The Salvation Army.
  • To facilitate, in every way possible, the mission of The Salvation Army, at the direction of the Corps Officer.
  • Maintain Food Pantry in a neat, orderly, clean manor.
  • Speak with Food Pantry clients and prepare baskets as needed.
  • Maintain Social Service files per Salvation Army standards,
  • Keep statistics for The Salvation Army, Mifflin County SFPP, and ORS systems.
  • Prepare monthly statistical reports and send to Corps Officer.
  • Assist with Seasonal Assistance as needed by Corps Officer.
  • Attend trainings, workshops , and conferances as requested by the Corps Officer.
  • Maintain a neat office/reception area.
  • Pleasently and professionally greet those who come into The Salvation Army.
  • Answer phone calls and refer as necessary to community resources.
  • Screen nature of vists, determine if we can help, make referrals as necessary.
  • Send thank you letter to doners as requeste by the Corps Officer.
  • Keep accurate records of Community Service workers.
  • Keep computer filesup-to-date and backed up.
