Requirements
  • A valid driving licence and willingness to travel.
  • EU work authorisation and eligibility to travel to domestic and international customer sites.
  • A Bachelor's degree, subject diploma such as IOSH, NEBOSH, CQA, IMEA, or Sifa, an engineering qualification, or equivalent knowledge and experience gained through apprenticeships or previous employment.
  • Proven experience as a Health and Safety Engineer or in a similar role in an engineering setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and German-specific safety law.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify potential hazards and develop effective preventive measures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish cross-functional collaboration and train employees on safety procedures.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and industry-specific safety management systems.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication through agreed and appropriate communication channels.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance from a Specialist or Manager.
  • High focus on safety, quality, and compliance standards.
  • Fluent written and spoken German and English.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations concerning product compliance, environmental safety, and safety, including handling contact with appropriate agencies.
  • Ensure that prompt corrective action is taken when health and safety hazards are identified.
  • Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments of facilities, machinery, and equipment; identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Establish effective working relationships with internal departments on QHSE matters.
  • Ensure the safety of field personnel working at customer sites and manage incident-related escalations.
  • Support continuous improvement across all elements of QHSE.
  • Implement employee training programs covering compliance, hazardous material handling, emergency response, hygiene, and safety.
  • Monitor regional QHSE activities; prepare status reports; analyze safety performance indicators; compile reports; and present findings to management, including improvement areas.
  • Maintain technical and regulatory knowledge to provide ongoing QHSE support within the region.
  • Assist with developing and periodically updating emergency response plans and ensuring organizational readiness for emergencies.
  • Establish trusting relationships with internal and external contacts and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • Travel to domestic and international customer sites to provide essential support.
Desired Qualifications
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional or Associate Safety Professional.
  • Knowledge of Mandarin or Taiwanese.
