- An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
- Two to four years of laboratory experience in a technical or analytical environment.
- Prior experience operating laboratory instruments and interpreting basic data sets.
- A strong understanding of laboratory procedures and safety practices.
- The ability to follow standard operating procedures and regulatory methods such as NIOSH, ASTM, and EPA methods.
- Competence in troubleshooting routine issues and performing basic maintenance.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work on multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Conduct intermediate-level sample preparation and analysis using standard methods such as USP, FCC, EPA, ASTM, and NIOSH methods.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instrumentation with minimal supervision, including balances, auto titrators, LECO TGA, and CVAA.
- Analyze and interpret data and report findings accurately and in compliance with applicable standards.
- Identify deviations from expected results or instrumentation issues and escalate them appropriately.
- Assist in troubleshooting routine equipment malfunctions or analytical anomalies.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation in accordance with standard operating procedures and quality assurance/quality control requirements.
- Adhere to laboratory safety procedures and contribute to safe laboratory practices.
- Mentor and provide guidance to entry-level Analyst I or Technician staff.
- Participate in audits, quality reviews, and internal improvement initiatives.
- Make routine technical decisions within standard procedures.
- Refer complex or non-conforming issues to a supervisor or senior staff member.
- Apply judgment to troubleshoot analytical issues and ensure accurate results.
- Assist in refining procedures or improving laboratory efficiency.
- Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
