Requirements
  • An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
  • Two to four years of laboratory experience in a technical or analytical environment.
  • Prior experience operating laboratory instruments and interpreting basic data sets.
  • A strong understanding of laboratory procedures and safety practices.
  • The ability to follow standard operating procedures and regulatory methods such as NIOSH, ASTM, and EPA methods.
  • Competence in troubleshooting routine issues and performing basic maintenance.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work on multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct intermediate-level sample preparation and analysis using standard methods such as USP, FCC, EPA, ASTM, and NIOSH methods.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instrumentation with minimal supervision, including balances, auto titrators, LECO TGA, and CVAA.
  • Analyze and interpret data and report findings accurately and in compliance with applicable standards.
  • Identify deviations from expected results or instrumentation issues and escalate them appropriately.
  • Assist in troubleshooting routine equipment malfunctions or analytical anomalies.
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation in accordance with standard operating procedures and quality assurance/quality control requirements.
  • Adhere to laboratory safety procedures and contribute to safe laboratory practices.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to entry-level Analyst I or Technician staff.
  • Participate in audits, quality reviews, and internal improvement initiatives.
  • Make routine technical decisions within standard procedures.
  • Refer complex or non-conforming issues to a supervisor or senior staff member.
  • Apply judgment to troubleshoot analytical issues and ensure accurate results.
  • Assist in refining procedures or improving laboratory efficiency.

  • Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
