Requirements
  • A minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse is required.
  • Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state is required.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification is required, either from the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers or an American Red Cross CPR/AED certification for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare.
  • An associate or diploma degree in nursing requires enrollment in an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing program within two years and successful completion of the BSN degree within four years of the RN hire or reclassification date.
  • Ability to perform the listed standing, sitting, walking, stair-climbing, bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, lifting, carrying, force-exertion, vision, hearing, sensory, motor, and coordination functions.
  • Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
  • Ability to work in a latex-safe environment.
  • Ability to be physically qualified for respirator use when applicable.
Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized, goal-directed patient care to patients and families using the nursing process.
  • Perform patient assessment, develop nursing diagnoses, identify outcomes, plan and implement interventions, coordinate care, provide health teaching and promotion, and evaluate goals and interventions.
  • Deliver safe and effective care in accordance with nursing standards, practice policies, and patient and family needs.
  • Direct and lead assigned team members and collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare team members.
  • Provide age- and developmentally appropriate, patient- and family-centered care addressing physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs.
  • Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment while protecting patient privacy and providing responsive, respectful, accepting, and professional care.
  • Participate in the professional practice model, shared governance, peer review, and professional development activities.
  • Promote leadership and clinical excellence, effective team skills, autonomous practice, accountability, and critical thinking.
  • Apply care-management principles to coordinate effective and efficient delivery of patient care services.
  • Identify clinical priorities and initiate actions to improve patient outcomes.
  • Promote a healthy work environment and take responsibility for professional growth.
  • Work three 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays, as scheduled.
Desired Qualifications
