- A high school diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience is required.
- No prior experience is required.
- The role requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of objects weighing 0-25 pounds; frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and repetitive foot, leg, hand, and arm movements; frequent near and far vision and color identification; frequent hearing and oral communication; and frequent keyboard use/data entry.
- The role requires occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of objects weighing 25-50 pounds.
- The role requires rare climbing.
- No professional license or certification is required.
- Gather information from patients and enter it into the appropriate database, using appropriate resources to resolve issues about the type, date, or location of prescribed procedures.
- Schedule patient procedures to efficiently use the patient's time and clinical resources, and coordinate and communicate schedules.
- Assist with activities related to insurance pre-certification and authorization.
- Provide patients, participants, or their representatives with counseling regarding pre-service requirements and instructions.
- Perform clerical and reception duties associated with patient registration.
- Perform other assigned duties.
- Experience with patient access or registration, electronic health records, medical insurance, and customer service is preferred.
