Maven is a proprietary trading organisation formed in 2011 which has offices in London, Amsterdam, Hong Kong, New York, Chicago and Sydney. We currently have in excess of 300 employees globally.

As Group Accountant you will join an experienced and high-performing team based in the UK office and benefit from excellent exposure to the inner workings of a fast-paced trading organisation. It’s an essential role, overseeing everything from balance sheet control to preparation of statutory accounts. There will be plenty of opportunity to work with different teams across the firm and take ownership of key accounting practices. 

WHAT YOU’RE GOING TO DO:

- Oversee balance sheets for subset of legal entities
- Assistance with month end processing
- Assisting with Accruals and Prepayments
- Assisting with month-end and year end journals
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Aid with the production and audit of statutory financial statements for a range of UK and Jersey group entities (including consolidated group accounts)  
- Maintain accounting policies and notes for complex and high risk transactions  
- Keep up to date with developments in IFRS  
- Completion of regulatory returns  
- Identify and implement improvements within existing processes
- Ad hoc project work as required

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

- Experience working in management accounting / accounts production function essential
- ACA/ACCA or equivalent qualified
- Exposure to financial services through practice or industry background essential
- Exposure to regulatory reporting is a nice to have
- Strong level of proficiency in MS Excel
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good understanding of existing IFRS requirements and ability to research other reporting frameworks
