Requirements
  • At least 10 years in strategic business and capture development within the federal sector, focusing on the Department of Defense or Department of Homeland Security
  • Comprehensive understanding of DoD or DHS operations, key personnel, programs, and the contractor ecosystem through hands-on programs leadership experience
  • Possessing established relationships with customers and a robust network of partners within the DoD or DHS ecosystem
  • Demonstrated success in winning competitive bids and managing acquisitions with a focus on opportunities averaging $100M+ total contract value, with a factored value of $50M+, encompassing Government-Wide Acquisition Contracts, agency-specific vehicles, standalone contracts, and task orders
  • Experience bidding, winning and growing Small Business Innovation Research projects and Other Transaction Authorities
  • In-depth knowledge of eSimplicity’s technical capabilities and ability to position these to meet DoD or DHS requirements
  • Current or ability to obtain a security clearance (SECRET minimum)
  • Ability to work in a remote environment in the Eastern time zone with occasional travel not exceeding 5% per year
  • Willingness to engage with cross-functional teams including Account Leads, Practice Leads, and P&L leadership to drive growth
  • Experience with proposal processes and working with Capture leadership to enhance competitive positioning and solution development
Responsibilities
  • Lead the identification and cultivation of new business opportunities within Defense and National Security Departments and Agencies, employing best practices in account planning, customer mapping, and relationship management strategies to secure and expand our client base
  • Bring deep expertise in the missions and enterprise programs and systems supporting within the Defense or National Security arena
  • Conduct targeted pre-capture research and competitive analysis to position eSimplicity advantageously
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, opportunities, and initiatives within the defense and national security sector, leveraging this intelligence to inform strategic decisions
  • Spearhead the initial development and management of strategic partnerships, and support negotiations and workshare agreements, aligning with eSimplicity’s strategic objectives
  • Maintain and grow client relationships, ensuring eSimplicity is positioned as a partner of choice
  • Work closely with Account Leads, Practice Leads, and P&L leadership, focusing on growth activities by driving solutioning and strategic initiatives to expand eSimplicity’s footprint within DHS and across DoD
  • Serve as a bridge between proposals, operations, and project teams, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration across different functional areas to align efforts and strategies for winning new work
  • Work closely with the proposal team and Director of Capture to ensure all proposals meet all compliance requirements and effectively articulate eSimplicity’s value propositions
  • Participate in transition planning, advising on the handover of awarded contracts to ensure strategic guidance
  • Partner with Capture leadership to enhance competitive positioning, team structure, and solution development
Desired Qualifications
  • Security clearance at the SECRET level or higher is preferred but not strictly required
  • Experience in government contracting, particularly within defense or homeland security, is preferred
  • Track record of leading cross-functional teams and driving growth in a federal contractor environment
  • Advanced degree or professional certification in strategic business development, capture management, or defense-related fields is a plus
