  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
  • Meet all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for the unit or department.
  • Maintain a current State of Alabama Registered Nurse license.
  • Maintain current Basic Life Support/Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Have at least 1 year of experience, unless approved by an Assistant Vice President or higher-level leader.
Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced nursing care for patients requiring complex assessments, therapies, and high-intensity interventions.
  • Analyze assessment data to anticipate changes and respond quickly to evolving patient conditions.
  • Prioritize critical information to take immediate, evidence-based, patient-focused action.
  • Monitor and manage specialized equipment and interpret data such as cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic pressures.
  • Respond to emergencies and life-threatening situations according to established protocols and standards of care.
  • Assess patient needs, develop and evaluate individualized care plans, and advocate for patients and families.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams while coordinating and delegating patient-care activities.
  • Document care accurately, maintain clinical competency, model professionalism, and support departmental goals.
Desired Qualifications
  • Two years of experience in critical care or progressive care is highly preferred.
