Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience; construction accounting preferred.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting procedures and principles.
  • Knowledge of budget control methods, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to prepare financial and accounting records.
  • Ability to analyze, consolidate, and interpret accounting data.
  • Ability to compile, organize, interpret, and communicate accounting data and results concisely.
  • Ability to manage a budget and work within the constraints of that budget.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities
  • Maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded.
  • Safeguards the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger.
  • Applies principles of accounting to manage project accounts for UHealth Facilities Operations & Planning, with a primary focus on Integrated Project Delivery capital projects.
  • Prepares complex balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
  • Analyzes current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.
  • Acts as a liaison among vendors, contractors, purchasing, accounts payable, client financial representatives, and project managers to ensure accurate financial activities.
  • Processes and verifies project-related invoices, ensuring proper approval, accuracy, and timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Reviews purchase orders and change orders for compliance and accuracy, confirming all necessary approvals and documentation.
  • Conducts regular meetings with project managers to review financials, budgets, and expenditures.
  • Reconciles project accounts, ensuring accurate transaction recording and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Prepares detailed financial reconciliation reports, presenting findings and recommendations to management.
  • Ensures compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements in project financial activities.
  • Manages journal entries, ensuring accuracy across accounting periods and resolving discrepancies.
  • Generates, analyzes, and presents financial reports on project performance, offering insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Supports internal and external audits related to project finances, maintaining proper documentation and archiving.
  • Reviews financial processes regularly and provides support to achieve organizational financial objectives.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational financial goals.
