Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience is required.
  • Knowledge of operational management, including optimizing day-to-day operations and processes for efficiency and effectiveness, is required.
  • The ability to implement organizational development strategies, improve organizational effectiveness and engagement, and manage change is required.
  • Knowledge of financial operations and management is required.
  • The ability to create and maintain a cohesive and productive team environment, build positive working relationships, and collaborate with others is required.
  • Proficiency in office software, technology, and relevant computer applications is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey ideas clearly and persuasively are required.
Responsibilities
  • Protect the University's computers, networks, and data against security breaches, computer viruses, and attacks by assessing security measures and identifying weak points.
  • Direct internal teams in the execution of IT initiatives to facilitate higher levels of customer service.
  • Design improved work systems by revising work standards, policies, procedures, employee work methods and utilization, and staffing levels.
  • Hire, train, counsel, and develop staff.
  • Make recommendations to IT leadership, peers, and subordinates to improve the working environment.
  • Participate in University operations and projects related to the security and privacy of IT systems.
  • Develop and maintain security and privacy policies for the University of Miami Health System.
  • Manage user provisioning and maintenance processes for electronic health records and related IT systems.
  • Manage the creation and maintenance of user profiles to control user access and actions.
  • Manage security and privacy monitoring processes in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Track evolving industry standards and regulations related to electronic health record security and privacy practices.
  • Implement and support standards and practices that apply to or would benefit the University.
  • Implement standard practices that improve operational security and privacy.
  • Monitor organizational or operational changes that might negatively affect patient data privacy and security, and take corrective action.
  • Monitor internal controls to ensure that appropriate access levels are maintained.
  • Audit systems and information management processes to identify breaches.
  • Establish and continuously assess the effectiveness of internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.
  • Ensure employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policies and procedures.
