Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program, required.
  • New York State Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist, required.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration, required.
  • Experience with Radiology Information System, PC, radiographic equipment (i.e. portable/fixed units, c-arms, fluoroscopic equipment), required.
Responsibilities
  • Reviews imaging request to determine proper exam protocols. Looks for indications of WET or STAT readings.
  • Confirms patient identity.
  • Communicates effectively with patient. Translates examination into layman terms based on professional knowledge.
  • Performs radiographic procedures.
  • Reviews processed radiographs in computer system to ensure exam is viewable, anatomically correct, and required identifiers are present.
  • Documents exam completion in patient medical record.
  • Maintains cleanliness and safety of exam areas and equipment.
  • Monitors supply levels and informs supervisor of ordering needs.
  • Notifies supervisor of any radiographic equipment malfunctions.
  • May participate in orientation of new Technologists.
  • Performs related clerical duties including, but not limited to, computer data entry maintaining logs, etc.
  • Performs related duties, as required.
