Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, a relevant business field, information systems, public administration, higher education administration, or another field with acceptable relevant experience.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience in auditing, compliance, governmental, healthcare, higher education, or risk analysis and assurance services.
  • A minimum of three years of supervisory or project management experience, such as leading audit engagements and coordinating team members assigned to those audits.
  • CPA, CIA, or CISA certification is required.
  • Annual completion of 40 hours of continuing professional development is required to maintain active professional certifications.
  • A satisfactory pre-employment background check is required.
  • Valid U.S. work authorization is required at the time of hire and must be maintained throughout employment.
Responsibilities
  • Provide operational supervision of staff executing financial, operational, regulatory, and management-requested audits at LSU or LSU-related entities, campuses, and research centers, including audit planning, completion, and follow-up.
  • Review work papers, write audit reports, conduct interviews and conferences, and perform independent projects as needed.
  • Provide supervision and quality assurance reviews to ensure work performed by others is accurate, competently performed, and meets established documentation standards.
  • Plan, organize, direct, and/or conduct financial, operational, follow-up, or compliance audits, investigations, and agreed-upon procedures.
  • Provide professional audit reports supported by competent evidential data.
  • Partner with clients to develop recommendations to improve controls and systems, and conduct entrance and exit conferences.
  • Inform the supervisor of detailed audit progress, major findings, and problems encountered.
  • Maintain attention to detail and implement project management practices.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with university management and auditees to assist in completing the audit plan.
  • Assist in developing a risk-based audit plan by identifying exposures and potential impacts of risks to the university.
  • Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of university systems and use computer-assisted audit techniques as a routine audit tool.
  • Travel in-state, including overnight travel, up to 25% as required.
