Requirements
  • A minimum of 20 years of progressive design experience in roadway engineering design for highway, interchange, and/or urban roadway design services to public clients.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
  • A Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering is preferred.
  • A Professional Engineer license and the ability to obtain licensure in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Twenty or more years of applicable experience in roadway engineering design.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of advanced design software and advanced computational software applications.
  • Experience supervising staff.
  • Knowledge of multiple disciplines such as roadway, transit, bridge, geotechnical, and civil/site.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to lead client presentations.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
  • Contributes to the development and execution of highway business plans, budgets and performance goals.
  • Contributes advice and direction to major proposals, risk assessment and mitigation plans, and project execution plans.
  • Supervises staff and responsible for key technical relationships with clients.
  • Serves as a Chief Engineer or Strategist for large, complex or strategic projects.
  • May serve as Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Contributes to corporate strategy, plans and programs.
  • Develops scopes of work and provides input for negotiations on complex and/or large projects where multiple disciplines are involved and work is conducted across multiple offices and/or disciplines.
  • Acts as technical specialist in the development of proposals.
  • Responsible to work on multiple concurrent assignments and time management.
  • Responsible for executing the project scope of work and managing the technical development of the work and maintaining the budget and schedule.
  • Representing GFT at industry and professional events.
Desired Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering preferred.
