The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Software Engineering Project Manager to lead and oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of software development projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software engineering, combined with excellent project management skills, to ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, QA, and stakeholders, to deliver high-quality software solutions.
You Will:
Project Planning & Execution: Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and risk management strategies. Ensure projects are executed according to plan, adjusting as necessary to meet objectives.
Team Leadership: Lead and motivate software development teams, providing clear direction, removing obstacles, and ensuring alignment with project goals. Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of project status, risks, and deliverables. Manage stakeholder expectations and facilitate decision-making processes.
Scope Management: Define project scope in collaboration with stakeholders and manage scope changes through formal change management processes, ensuring that project objectives are met without unnecessary delays or cost overruns.
Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, ensuring that potential issues are proactively addressed. Develop contingency plans to minimize impact on project timelines and deliverables.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that projects meet the required quality standards by coordinating engineers and QA, implementing best practices, and conducting regular reviews throughout the development lifecycle.
Agile Practices: Promote and implement Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) within the team, facilitating regular stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to ensure continuous improvement and timely delivery.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, meeting minutes, and post-project reviews, to ensure clarity and continuity throughout the project lifecycle.
Performance Monitoring: Track and report on project performance using appropriate tools and techniques, ensuring that project objectives are met and identifying areas for improvement.
Continuous Improvement: Lead post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and best practices, driving continuous improvement in project management processes and methodologies.
You Have:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or PMP certification is a plus.
Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in software project management, with a proven track record of delivering complex software projects on time and within budget.
- Strong background in software engineering, with hands-on experience in software development or technical leadership roles.
- Experience managing projects in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in project management tools such as Jira, Trello, Microsoft Project, or similar.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and software engineering principles.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder relationships.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on finding innovative solutions to project challenges.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
Preferred:
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) certification.
- Experience in enterprise software development
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
