Senior Data Engineer @ Shipt

Shipt, Inc. seeks a full-time Senior Data Engineer. Duties include develop Data Pipelines by working within the Data Warehouse team and with other members of the Engineering organizations to build services that subscribe and collect messages from our next generation services for entity CRUD and business activity. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and Management, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field and 2 years of experience in Proffered position or related position (e.g., Data Engineer, Engineer). Work experience must also include at least 2 years of experience with the following: (1) SQL and tuning in an analytic query environment (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery); (2) a programming language (e.g., Python or R); (3) streaming or Message Queuing Systems (e.g., Kafka); (4) streaming APIs (e.g., Spark); and (5) technologies and design patterns (e.g., micro services, key-value stores) in a web-scale data environment. Salary: $82,389 to $184,071/year. This position is fully remote and may telecommute from any location in the U.S. Company HQ is located in Birmingham, AL. Various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. may be possible in the future. Occasional travel to company’s offices for work reasons may be needed.
