We are now recruiting for Health Physics Monitors to join us on our major project located near Newbury.
Responsibilities:
Supporting the Health Physics Manager and RPA in maintaining radiological oversight and control of the assigned buildings. To ensure that adequate Health Physics services can be provided in normal, abnormal and emergency conditions.
Essential Responsibilities:
Assists with decommissioning activities (including entries into areas with RPE).
Performs Health Physics Surveys (radiation and contamination) and completes Health Physics Survey Reports.
Utilizes air sampling equipment.
Ensures the functioning of the Health Physics survey equipment.
Provides Health Physics coverage of operations as directed by Health Physics Supervisors.
Ensures Health Physics Clearance of items removed from controlled areas.
Maintains stock of Respiratory Protective Equipment/Personal Protection Equipment.
Performs contamination controlled area dresser barrier duties, including organizing laundry of clothing.
Instructs trainee surveyors.
Radiological coaching of staff with whom they work.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
City and Guilds level 1 radiological protection
Minimum 3 years surveying experience ideally with air fed suit operations.
Proven knowledge of Radiological Protection, Decommissioning activities and radioactive waste management
Flexibility and ability to adapt to a changing work environment
IOSH Managing Safely desirable.
Successful applicant must be a British national and must be eligible to hold a DV level of security clearance.
