Requirements
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Excellent knowledge of FDA, HSR, and GCP Guidelines.

Responsibilities
  • Support division- or program-wide research operations by improving workflows, technical research systems, and research processes.
  • Manage programmatic activities for multiple complex, internally and externally funded research projects, including activities associated with additional and ongoing funding.
  • Ensure compliance with research protocols and regulatory guidelines, identify potential risks, and develop workflow strategies to support successful and efficient project execution.
  • Develop and monitor research portfolio metrics to evaluate and measure the performance of the division or program’s research portfolio, and provide quarterly progress and metric reports to divisional research leaders.
  • Collaborate with business offices to facilitate contract negotiations and execution, ensure accurate accrual tracking, and provide information needed for timely financial reconciliation, management, and reporting.
  • Support pre-award and post-award activities related to sponsored research grant proposals and projects.
  • Partner with program leaders to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including collaborators, funders, subcontractors, consultants, and Yale School of Medicine administrative teams.
  • Assist with onboarding and training study team members responsible for day-to-day research activities.
  • Lead or participate in division, program, and sponsor study meetings and teleconferences.
  • Oversee the advancement and growth of the program and provide direction and leadership supporting its philosophy, mission, strategy, and annual goals and objectives.
  • Assume primary accountability for disseminating and publishing program information to create public awareness and support.
  • Work with leadership, internal and external colleagues, and community residents to further develop and implement strategic plans.
  • Identify, solicit, and cultivate community partnerships and collaborations to support program development and growth.
  • Develop metrics to identify and measure program success and evaluate grant success.
  • Identify and evaluate potential future funding sources and contribute to grant and contract submissions, including annual submission and writing of grant application content and budget sections.
  • Develop and manage the program’s operating budget.
  • Develop the administrative infrastructure of the program.
  • Manage the program’s human resource and administrative functions, including staffing, hiring, supervision, performance development, counseling, and discipline when warranted.
  • Oversee and manage information systems, facilities, and space needs.
  • Investigate, identify, implement, and oversee maintenance of systems used to gather, track, and report information supporting program initiatives.
  • Track program activities and regularly inform leadership of progress on each initiative.
  • Recommend structural or programmatic adjustments, changes, or additions based on the program’s missions, goals, and objectives.
  • Design and manage program communications, identify outreach opportunities, and promote philanthropic and collaborative support.
  • Contribute to development and assist in managing website content, and monitor editorial changes and additions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
