Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers or patients, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret insurance forms.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Responsibilities
  • Achieve a world-class Total Patient Experience that maximizes retail sales while supporting patients' medical needs.
  • Dispense and fit glasses and contact lenses from prescriptions written by optometrists and ophthalmologists.
  • Build relationships with patients while delivering medical support.
  • Determine patients' wants and needs and sell products and services to exceed their expectations.
  • Assist patients in selecting frames according to style and color while coordinating frames with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions.
  • Operate the automatic and manual lensometers.
  • Educate patients and recommend lenses, lens coatings, and frames to suit their needs.
  • Accurately collect bridge, eye size, temple length, segment height, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and pantoscopic tilt measurements.
  • Dispense patient orders and repair and adjust patient frames.
  • Dispense all glasses and contact lens orders in E360.
  • Follow all job aids, policies, and protocols.
  • Maintain frame standards by cleaning and organizing fully stocked and well-presented areas.
  • Keep frame inventory accurate.
  • Perform general office duties and cleaning assigned by the manager.
  • Assist with other duties in the office as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous medical office experience is preferred.
  • Previous ophthalmic experience is strongly preferred.
  • Current ABO/ABOC and NCLE certifications are preferred, but may be obtained within the first two years of employment.
