Requirements
  • The candidate must be at least 21 years old.
  • The candidate must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • The candidate must have experience with youth in a residential, shelter, or crisis program.
  • The candidate must pass the Department of Human Services background check and maintain qualified status.
  • The candidate must successfully meet the company's physical job demands.
  • If using a personal vehicle for company business, the candidate must have a current valid driver's license and insurance required by state law.
  • The candidate must successfully complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training within the first two months of employment with a score of at least 70%.
  • The candidate must successfully complete Medication Administration training with a score of at least 80% and regularly administer medications correctly without error.
  • The candidate must demonstrate basic computer skills.
  • The candidate must be willing to work a combination of day, evening, and every-other-weekend hours.
Responsibilities
  • Support youth experiencing mental health crises by implementing interventions identified in their therapeutic support plans.
  • Engage youth in daily activities, including hygiene, daily tasks, cooking, scheduling, community activities, and behavior management.
  • Use a trauma-informed care perspective in interactions with clients and coworkers.
  • Attend team and client meetings.
  • Ensure client safety by implementing behavior interventions described in therapeutic support plans.
  • Transport clients into the community during day and night hours while demonstrating safe and appropriate social skills.
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries with clients.
  • Maintain a clean and safe home by following policies and procedures during each shift.
  • Work with families, guardians, workers, and other identified supports to encourage communication and healthy relationships.
  • Help clients identify triggers and implement coping strategies to stabilize and transition to long-term living.
  • Lead and teach dialectical behavior therapy groups for youth during shifts.
  • Participate in recreation activities, games, and home events.
  • Complete required shift documentation.
  • Assist with daily housekeeping and household maintenance.
  • Implement programs in accordance with the Coordinated Service and Support Plan, its Addendum, and the Individual Abuse Prevention Plan.
  • Provide person-centered services through practice, action, and language.
  • Administer and document prescribed medications, treatments, diets, and examinations as directed by applicable service plans.
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and company policies.
  • Prepare meals according to planned menus and complete weekly food ordering as needed.
  • Read and follow company policies and procedures.
  • Check company email each shift and use SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to complete documentation and remain current on company and client information.
  • Administer medications according to medication administration guidelines.
  • Complete mandatory training required by the employer or applicable regulations.
  • Attend Medical Coordinator trainings and drop-in sessions as needed.
  • Manage overall client healthcare in conjunction with the Lead Youth Counselor.
  • Oversee house and client documentation and work with the Program Supervisor to maintain it according to company expectations and licensing standards.
  • Ensure fire and weather drills are completed at the frequency required by licensing standards unless appropriately delegated.
  • Cross-train at multiple crisis programs to support youth and staffing needs.
  • Collaborate with the team on other assigned duties.
