Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in government (federal and/or international), government relations, business development, and/or management
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in energy, business, international relations, policy, engineering or other related fields
  • Familiarity with and ability to navigate the policies, procedures, and lines of communication between relevant agencies, offices, and other groups
  • Experience directing the work of project teams and/or managing people
  • Ability to communicate, both written and verbally, in an effective manner to the intended audience
  • Critical thinker, ability to creatively solve problems, deal with ambiguity and a fast-paced changing environment
Responsibilities
  • Advocate on behalf of the company within the Federal Government as well as within key trade agencies and organizations
  • Represent Last Energy in discussions with policymakers, including but not limited to the Department of Energy, Department of Commerce, and Department of State, and other US trade agencies
  • Monitor relevant legislation, regulations, and executive processes, and notify business stakeholders of relevant updates and potential future challenges
  • Represent the company in issue-related industry associations and coalitions and engage with other non-governmental stakeholders
  • Work with our international government relations teams and commercial teams to inform stakeholder mapping
  • Build a strong working relationship with consultants, recruiting and managing lobbyists, if needed
Desired Qualifications
  • Understanding of energy sector is a plus including national security, international development, and/or climate-related issues
