Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in government (federal and/or international), government relations, business development, and/or management
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in energy, business, international relations, policy, engineering or other related fields
- Familiarity with and ability to navigate the policies, procedures, and lines of communication between relevant agencies, offices, and other groups
- Experience directing the work of project teams and/or managing people
- Ability to communicate, both written and verbally, in an effective manner to the intended audience
- Critical thinker, ability to creatively solve problems, deal with ambiguity and a fast-paced changing environment
Responsibilities
- Advocate on behalf of the company within the Federal Government as well as within key trade agencies and organizations
- Represent Last Energy in discussions with policymakers, including but not limited to the Department of Energy, Department of Commerce, and Department of State, and other US trade agencies
- Monitor relevant legislation, regulations, and executive processes, and notify business stakeholders of relevant updates and potential future challenges
- Represent the company in issue-related industry associations and coalitions and engage with other non-governmental stakeholders
- Work with our international government relations teams and commercial teams to inform stakeholder mapping
- Build a strong working relationship with consultants, recruiting and managing lobbyists, if needed
Desired Qualifications
- Understanding of energy sector is a plus including national security, international development, and/or climate-related issues
