Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Five or more years of experience in manufacturing or a program/project management role.
  • Three to five years of experience in engineering roles related to manufacturing, product development, or operations support.
  • Proficiency in enterprise resource planning and manufacturing execution systems such as Epicor, Oracle, or SAP.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to handle data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills for coordinating with various departments.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Knowledge of computer-aided design and other design and simulation software.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production workflows.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design software and document control systems.
  • Knowledge of engineering change request and engineering change notice processes and tools.
  • Ability to work autonomously and make decisions under pressure.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact for product engineering questions and issues arising on the Arizona factory floor.
  • Support production teams by troubleshooting product-specific technical problems to minimize downtime.
  • Work with quality, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to support smooth daily operations.
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance and drive solutions for product and design-related production challenges.
  • Own and approve or advise on the engineering change request and engineering change notice process at the Arizona factory.
  • Initiate, review, validate, and approve engineering change requests submitted by the Arizona factory team.
  • Coordinate with the Montreal engineering office to obtain timely approval and implement changes.
  • Update documentation, drawings, and electronic bills of material to reflect approved changes.
  • Communicate and implement changes while minimizing disruption to production schedules.
  • Use structured problem-solving techniques to identify root causes of product design issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Escalate complex problems to the main engineering team with context and recommendations when necessary.
  • Document solutions and maintain a knowledge base to prevent recurrence of similar issues.
  • Make independent, balanced decisions to resolve immediate issues.
  • Act as a gatekeeper to avoid unnecessary escalations to the Montreal engineering office.
  • Provide feedback to the Montreal engineering team to inform design and process improvements.
  • Maintain communication with the Phoenix factory and Montreal engineering teams.
  • Provide regular reports on factory operations, engineering issues, and implemented solutions.
  • Represent the Quebec engineering team in cross-functional governance meetings at the factory.
