CrowdStrike (CRWD): AI security expands, valuation debated.

CrowdStrike (CRWD): AI security expands, valuation debated. 4h ago · 0:00 listen · Source: simplywall.st Summary. CrowdStrike Holdings is expanding its AI security reach, with recent product news highlighting integrations with Endace Limited and the wider rollout of Project QuiltWorks. The company's stock currently trades at US$191.95. What's interesting is the stock's valuation. The most popular narrative suggests a fair value of $193.13, placing it about 1% undervalued. This view considers the focus on Next-Gen SIEM, cloud-native security, and large partnerships as supportive of demand. However, a different model estimates a fair value of $99.69 per share, suggesting the stock is overvalued by that measure. The company has seen strong momentum, with an 82.57% total shareholder return over one year, despite a recent 7-day pullback of 11.52%. Key risks include potential disappointment in new products and intense cloud security competition. The bottom line for investors is to consider these different valuation perspectives when assessing CrowdStrike's future potential. This is an AI-generated audio summary. CrowdStrike named the Frost Radar(TM) leader in Cloud Workload Protection for fourth consecutive time.

CrowdStrike named the Frost Radar(TM) leader in Cloud Workload Protection for fourth consecutive time. CrowdStrike named the "strongest overall leader" as runtime-first security becomes the standard for cloud and AI workload protection. Aug 20, 2026 Prev Next 1 of 43,511 CrowdStrike announced it has been named the "strongest overall leader" in the 2026 Frost Radar(TM): Cloud Workload Protection Platforms (CWPP) for the fourth consecutive time. CrowdStrike scored highest of all vendors in Growth and Innovation, driving the market shift from posture-only point protection to runtime-first platforms. Adversaries now move across containers, Kubernetes, identities, and cloud control planes inside a single intrusion, abusing valid credentials to blend into legitimate activity. Legacy cloud security was built to scan for misconfigurations on a schedule, not stop an adversary operating at machine speed. Frost & Sullivan highlighted CrowdStrike's "ability to operationalize workload protection through a mature integrated endpoint, identity, cloud, and SOC operational fabric...giving security teams a single architecture for posture visibility, vulnerability management, runtime protection, threat detection, and response." "Cloud and AI workloads are multiplying faster than legacy security can follow, and adversaries are exploiting the gap at machine speed," said AJ Shipley, chief product officer, CrowdStrike. "Posture tools tell you what is exposed. Only runtime tells you what an adversary is actually doing. Falcon Cloud Security unifies proactive and runtime protection with adversary intelligence to stop breaches across AI workloads, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments." Key report findings include: Cloud Runtime Leader "CWPP and cloud runtime remain the bedrock of CrowdStrike's Falcon Cloud Security platform business...this gives CrowdStrike strong competitive advantage in a CWPP market that is shifting from periodic vulnerability and posture assessment toward active runtime defense, real-time cloud threat detection, and faster incident response." CDR and AI Security "CrowdStrike's innovation has been increasingly tied to cloud runtime security, CDR, AI security, and extending to application runtime context." Unified Architecture "By using the same lightweight Falcon sensor, CrowdStrike can extend its runtime security across endpoints and cloud workloads, enabling organizations to adopt cloud workload protection, container runtime security, and CDR capabilities without deploying additional agents or managing separate infrastructure." Cloud Growth at Scale "CWPP and runtime detection" make CrowdStrike "one of the largest and fastest-scaling" vendors in the market, driving the shift "toward runtime protection and response."

CrowdStrike shares drop 2.8% as CTO leaves to launch AI cybersecurity fund

CrowdStrike shares fell 2.8% in premarket trading after reports emerged that the company's chief technology officer is leaving to launch an investment fund focused on artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. Bloomberg News reported the departure, which represents a significant change in CrowdStrike's senior leadership at a time when AI is becoming increasingly critical to cybersecurity products and threat detection. The company has not publicly commented on the transition or named a successor. Investors are likely awaiting details on how CrowdStrike plans to reorganise its technology leadership and whether it will appoint an internal or external candidate. The departure creates uncertainty around product strategy and innovation priorities for a company whose competitive positioning depends heavily on advanced security technology development.

Exclusive: CrowdStrike's CTO is leaving to launch an AI-cyber fund.

Exclusive: CrowdStrike's CTO is leaving to launch an AI-cyber fund. CrowdStrike global CTO Elia Zaitsev is leaving the cybersecurity giant to launch Cognition, a new venture firm targeting a $170 million fund. Why it matters: AI is creating new attack surfaces, and Cognition is betting the shift will produce a category-defining cybersecurity platform it can find and fund early. State of play: Zaitsev is leaving CrowdStrike after 13 years to launch Cognition alongside Gur Talpaz and Tayler Sipperly. * Talpaz and Sipperly worked in corporate development at CrowdStrike before launching their own early-stage fund, Brightmind. * There, they helped architect what they said was the largest Series A exit in cyber history: SGNL, which they entered at $105 million and exited at $740 million. * They see Zaitsev as their new fund's "superpower," Sipperly said, adding that "being able to offer" his expertise to founders is "deeply unique in the market." Between the lines: Cognition's thesis is that agentic AI is a platform-reset moment for cyber. * The three former CrowdStrikers behind the fund are specifically hunting for the rare technical team capable of building the next broad security platform. * Cognition plans to lead or co-lead seed and Series A rounds, and expects to make three or four concentrated investments a year. * Its model calls for average checks of $6 million at seed and $15 million at Series A. What they're saying: "We have this new attack surface that's being brought on by AI and agents," Zaitsev told Axios. * Zaitsev and his cofounders are looking for teams that can "keep up with the constantly changing adversarial threat landscape." * "AI security didn't exist five years ago... But as the adoption of AI dramatically ramps up in the enterprise, it requires a new set of tools," Talpaz told Axios. The bottom line: Cognition is betting AI will make cybersecurity harder to address and much more valuable.
