  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Professional registration as a licensed engineer (PE) or architect (AIA).
  • Society of American Value Engineers (SAVE) Certified Value Specialist (CVS) certification.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in value engineering, cost estimating, or related roles within the AEC industry.
  • Proven experience leading value engineering workshops and developing cost-effective project solutions.
  • Strong analytical and cost-estimating skills, with the ability to assess project designs and costs effectively.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage clients and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and software.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage value engineering workshops and studies to identify and implement cost-effective solutions while maintaining project quality, functionality, and sustainability.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of project designs, schedules, and performance criteria to recommend alternative approaches, materials, and methods that optimize value for clients.
  • Facilitate multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, architects, and stakeholders, to evaluate project components and drive value improvements.
  • Perform detailed cost estimating, including material, labor, equipment, and overhead calculations, for various project alternatives and proposals.
  • Analyze cost data to ensure that value engineering recommendations are financially viable and provide significant cost savings without compromising project objectives.
  • Assist in the development of accurate cost models and forecasting to support value-driven project decisions.
  • Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to integrate value engineering and cost-saving recommendations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide technical expertise on value management principles, ensuring alignment with project goals and client expectations.
  • Serve as a liaison between project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to facilitate the implementation of value engineering initiatives.
  • Prepare detailed reports documenting value engineering analyses, cost estimates, recommendations, and project improvements.
  • Present findings and proposed value solutions to clients, stakeholders, and senior management for decision-making and implementation.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of value engineering and cost-saving measures post-implementation to assess overall project performance and financial impact.
  • Ensure all value engineering activities adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices, with a particular focus on cost management.
  • Maintain professional licensure and certifications, including CVS, while staying current with industry advancements and value engineering technologies.
  • Incorporate sustainable practices into value engineering and cost estimating proposals, supporting Procon's commitment to green building initiatives.
